Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Tuesday, April 14, 2026

✝️ Scripture

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalm 139:13-14 — Read Full Chapter ↗

✝️ Devotional

In a world that often measures our worth by our productivity, our status, or our social media feed, it is easy to feel like just another face in the crowd. We spend so much time comparing our "behind-the-scenes" to everyone else’s "highlight reel" that we lose sight of a fundamental truth: You are an intentional creation.

The Masterpiece Principle reminds us that life isn't an accident or a series of random coincidences. The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ was intimately involved in our design—that we were "knit together" with precision and care. This means that your personality, your perspective, and even your unique quirks are part of a deliberate plan.

The benefit of this truth for all of us today is the realization that our value is "built-in," not "earned." You don't have to achieve a certain level of success to be significant; you are significant because of who made you. When we recognize that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made," it changes how we see ourselves and how we treat others. It gives us the confidence to face our challenges and the grace to celebrate our milestones, knowing that every single one of us is a "wonderful work" in progress.

✝️ Reflection Questions

1

If you stopped comparing yourself to others for just one day, what is one thing about yourself you would actually celebrate?

2

How does it change your view of a "bad day" to know that you were designed with a specific purpose in mind?

3

Since everyone around us is also a "wonderful work," how can we better respect the unique "knit" of the people we encounter today?

✝️ Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of life. Thank You for the intentionality with which You created every person. Help us to see ourselves and the people around us through Your eyes—as masterpieces made with love and purpose. May we walk with confidence today, knowing that we are known, valued, and wonderfully made by You. Amen.
