✝️ Scripture
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"Jeremiah 29:11 — Read Full Chapter ↗
✝️ Devotional
We often spend our time trying to "figure it all out." We worry about whether we’re in the right major, if our projects will succeed, or if we’re making the right moves in our relationships. It feels like the weight of the future is resting entirely on our shoulders, and that can lead to a lot of "mid-week" anxiety.
The benefit of this scripture is the shift in perspective. You aren't just wandering through life trying to guess the right way to go. Jesus Christ is the Architect. He doesn't just have a vague idea for your life; He has "plans." These aren't plans to keep you stuck or to see you fail; they are specifically designed to bring you into a future filled with hope.
Even when the "construction" phase of your life feels messy—like when you're dealing with technical bugs, personal setbacks, or just the tiredness of a long week—the Architect isn't surprised. He isn't making it up as He goes. Today, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Your job isn't to build the whole future today; your job is to trust the One who already has the blueprints drawn up.
✝️ Reflection Questions
What part of your future are you trying to "force" into place right now instead of trusting the Architect’s timing?
If you truly believed that God’s plan for you was to prosper you, how would that change the way you handle today’s stress?
Since the whole plan is already in His hands, what is the one small thing you can do today to just be faithful with what’s right in front of you?
✝️ Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that my future is not a mystery to You. I hand over my worries about what comes next and I trust in Your perfect plan. Thank You for promising me hope and a future. Help me to walk confidently today, knowing that You are leading me exactly where I need to be. Amen.
