โœ๏ธ Scripture

"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God"

โœ๏ธ Devotional

In our daily lives, we are constantly being labeled. We are labeled by our grades, our job titles, our past mistakes, or even our own insecurities. We carry these labels like heavy luggage, feeling like we have to constantly prove we are "more" than our worst moments. But Easter is the story of a radical, one-sided trade.

Jesus, who lived a perfect life, stepped into our place and took on our "labels." On the cross, He didn't just die for our sins; He identified with our failures, our shame, and our distance from God. He took the "guilty" label that belonged to us so that He could give us the "righteous" label that belonged to Him.

The benefit of this love is that your identity is no longer "under construction." You don't have to spend your life trying to build a version of yourself that is "good enough" for God or the world. When God looks at you, He doesn't see your unfinished projects or your past stumbles; He sees the perfection of Jesus.

This is the ultimate confidence booster. It means you can work hard, take risks, and even fail, without losing your value. Your worth isn't something you have to protect or earnโ€”itโ€™s something Jesus already secured for you. Because He was willing to be treated like us, we get to be treated like Him: fully known, deeply loved, and completely accepted.

โœ๏ธ Reflection Questions

1

What is one negative label youโ€™ve been carrying about yourself lately (e.g., "failure," "not enough," "stuck")?

2

If you truly believed that Jesus took that label and gave you His "righteousness" instead, how would you walk differently today?

3

How does knowing you are already "good enough" in Godโ€™s eyes change the way you handle the pressures of your work or studies?

โœ๏ธ Prayer

Lord Jesus, I am overwhelmed by the trade You made for me. Thank You for taking my shame and my failures upon Yourself so that I could walk in Your freedom. Help me to stop living under the weight of my old labels and start living in my new identity as Your child. Let Your love be my security and my strength in everything I do today. Amen.
