✝️ Scripture

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
John 13:34-35 — Read Full Chapter ↗

✝️ Devotional

On the night before He died, Jesus didn't give a long lecture on theology or a complex set of rules for the future. He did something much simpler and much harder: He washed the dirty feet of His friends—including the one who was about to betray Him—and told them to follow His lead.

The benefit of this "Maundy" (which comes from the Latin word for command) is that it gives our lives a clear, simple north star. When the world feels complicated, when your projects are stressful, or when people are difficult to deal with, the goal remains the same: Love like Jesus.

This isn't a "soft" kind of love; it’s a gritty, servant-hearted love. It’s the kind of love that puts others first, even when it’s inconvenient. When you shift your focus from "What can I get?" to "How can I serve?", the pressure of your own performance starts to lift. You realize that your greatest success today isn't just about what you build, but how you treat the people around you while you're building it.

✝️ Reflection Questions

1

Who is one person in your life (even someone difficult) that you can "wash the feet of" today through a simple act of kindness?

2

How does focusing on loving others change the way you handle your own frustrations and stress?

3

If the world is supposed to know we follow Jesus by our love, what does your "love" look like in your daily interactions?

✝️ Prayer

Jesus, thank You for the example You set on this night. Thank You for loving me enough to serve me and die for me. Help me to take this "new command" to heart today. Give me the humility to serve others and the grace to love them just as You have loved me. Amen
