✝️ Devotional

Many people wake up carrying the weight of yesterday. It might be the weight of a mistake made, a goal missed, or simply the exhaustion of a long week. It is easy to feel like we are starting the day at a disadvantage, already behind or already "consumed" by our circumstances.

The Promise of Renewal provides the ultimate reason to have hope at the start of any day. This scripture declares that God’s compassions are not a finite resource that runs out when we have a bad day. Instead, they are "new every morning." Just as the sun rises to break the darkness, the mercy of Jesus Christ is fresh and ready the moment we open our eyes.

The benefit of this truth is the opportunity for a genuine fresh start. Hope is not found in our ability to be perfect, but in God’s "great faithfulness." We don't have to be defined by who we were yesterday or what we failed to do. Today is a clean slate provided by the Creator’s love. We can move into the day with confidence, knowing that the grace available to us right now is exactly what we need for whatever lies ahead.

✝️ Reflection Questions

1

What is one "yesterday" weight that you need to leave behind, knowing that God’s mercy for you is brand new right now?

2

How does focusing on God’s "faithfulness" instead of our own performance change how we feel about the day ahead?

3

: Knowing that you are not "consumed" by your challenges, what is one thing you can look forward to with hope today?
