โ๏ธ Devotional
We spend a massive amount of our lives "seeking." We seek success, the right relationships, approval, and a sense of purpose. It can feel like the weight of finding our way through lifeโand finding our way to Godโis entirely on us. If we don't work hard enough or look in the right places, we worry weโll be permanently lost.
But Luke 19:10 flips the script. Jesus Christ didn't come to set up a complicated obstacle course for us to finish. He didn't come to wait for us to get our lives together so we could finally find Him. He came as a Search and Rescue team of one.
The benefit of this truth is the end of your striving. You don't have to "find" God today; He has already found you. Whether you feel "lost" in your career, lost in your mistakes, or just lost in the noise of a busy Monday, the King is actively seeking you out. He isn't looking for a "perfect" version of you; He came specifically for the version of you that doesn't have it all figured out yet. Today, you can stop running and start resting in the fact that the Savior has already reached you.
โ๏ธ Reflection Questions
In what area of your life do you feel the most "lost" or overwhelmed right now? How does it feel to know Jesus is seeking you in that exact spot?
Are you still trying to "find" your own way to God, or are you ready to let Him be the one who finds and saves you?
If Jesus' mission is to seek and save, how should that change the way you look at the "lost" situations you encounter today?
โ๏ธ Prayer
Lord Jesus, I thank You that You came for me. Thank You for not waiting for me to find my own way, but for seeking me out when I was lost. Today, I stop my striving and I rest in Your rescue. Help me to walk through this week with the confidence of someone who has been found and saved by the King. Amen.
